For over four decades, concrete rooftiles using wet system have been made as a thick and heavy tile. Wet system rooftiles are more solid and less thickness than dry system rooftiles.

In recent years a new generation of rooftile manufacturing has come to the market. The system is known as "multitiles", which produces 4 or 6 tiles in one larger tile. The larger tile has less thickness and weight than the normal tile, which reduces the usage of raw materials to produce them. The advantage is more a economical installation of the rooftiles.
